How to Cancel Your GitHub Copilot Subscription

Method 1: Cancel via the GitHub Copilot Website

If you signed up directly on their website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the official GitHub Copilot billing page and log in.
  2. Navigate to your Account Settings or Workspace Settings.
  3. Look for the Billing, Plan, or Subscription tab.
  4. Click on Cancel Subscription or Manage Plan.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the cancellation. (They might ask for a reason why you're leaving).

Method 2: Cancel via Apple App Store (iOS)

If you subscribed to GitHub Copilot using an iPhone or iPad app, you must cancel it through Apple:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name (Apple ID) at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Find GitHub Copilot in the list and tap it.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription.

Method 3: Cancel via Google Play Store (Android)

If you purchased your subscription on an Android device:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top right.
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  4. Select GitHub Copilot.
  5. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.

What happens after I cancel?

When you cancel your GitHub Copilot subscription, you will typically retain access to the premium features until the end of your current billing cycle. After that, your account will usually be downgraded to a free plan or locked, depending on how GitHub Copilot operates.
